Of Lanterns, wishes, and prayers

Best Blogger Tips

I did not fly a lantern today.

The thought of having a lantern with your wishes, big or small, released to the sky was a good idea that the Bancheto folks set up at the Megatent in Meralco Avenue. However there were complaints and other concerns that could arise when the lantern’s flight ends which forced the flight of the lanterns to be canceled with many folks disappointed.

Be Still (Art Exhibit) Launch

Best Blogger Tips

An hour and thirty minutes before the launch of the exhibit, I sat listening to some songs with my phone as i waited for the others to arrive. It’s been some time since I’ve been part of an exhibit.

Are you the one i've been waiting for?

A song I can't seem to get out of my head lately by a new found favorite musician of mine, Nick Cave. The song is "Are you the one i've been waiting for?" I just love how the last stanza runs. It's a slow mellow song but I guess this is how I feel now.

Stopping Fires Since+Post Hush+Cart of Favorites (My artwork at Be Still Exhibit)

Best Blogger Tips
Hi everyone!

Here's a write up for my paintings on the Be Still exhibit.  Enjoy!

Be Still. Two words that are calming to one who may be at the point of uncontrollable excitement, yearning, distress, or frustration. How can one be still in times of trouble? The translation brought about with the two words were executed on subjects that are inanimate. Inanimate yet still wishing to be of service until it's end. Things designed to be of great help for man: to be still.

arf arf arf!

Some people wonder how one should price their art work. What are the factors that one should appropriately place the right digits on their paintings?

It was interesting today. I was all hyped up to get to the launch of an exhibit, prepped snacks and treats for the cocktails, left early to get to the venue to make sure things are all in place and to help out in case there's anything that needs to be done to get the show as awesome as it should be. Was happy that I could wear my more decent looking clothes since today was an important day, sprayed more cologne than the usual, avoided slouching, and smiled more.

Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterpr... Sorry. Just thought it would be nice to say that to start the note. But incidentally, just like the famous starship of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, the building that the exhibit I'm part of is named Enterprise.

The venue is at the Arte Hall of Tower 2 (L for lobby is actually the 3rd level of the building... or something like that).

A Church Volunteer Weekend

Best Blogger Tips
Usually on Friday's, you can find me painting at Union Church Makati for volunteer work for the children ministry with Ken and Harry but this Friday I was pressed to finish some other activities. Friday night though I was able to to attend the Single Adult's Ministry of the church I attend (Word International) at the church's center at Greenbelt 1 Makati.

The focus topic was on stewardship of relationships. The title was "More than friends". A cute and beautiful story of a love story shared by big bro Butch and ate Badet. They met in the Single Adult's ministry also back in 2003(?) and if I got it right they were the pioneers of the Single Adult's Ministry.

They gave simple to do's and tips on how to be a better partner. They also raffled some sweets! I totally forgot about the candies that I won!

Ate Badet and kuya Butch. They shared a song to us singleloids:)
