I wouldn't know if I don't try. That has been the main personal topic I converse myself with these past few months.
Lately I've been thinking about trying some ideas that have been running in my head for some time, and I think I'm beginning to like it.
A few months back I started sketching some ideas on my pad then worked on some studies but with other paintings to finish I placed them on hold. Yesterday I was stocking some paintings and dismantled some stretchers and in the process I got several blisters on my right hand plus there were parts that felt bruised. But I was itching to paint. Plus I wanted to make a painting for my new room (or make a headboard). Restless and all, I decided to use my last 3x4ft canvas and started to try what I've placed on my pad to see how it would go. Here's the result:

Living in an Ark
At the cozy apartment of Reinier, we tackled the life of Noah today. Remember that guy who built the boat (which seemed like a floating coffin)? He was a man who did what God asked him to do. He was the guy who should be given royalty for Nike’s “Just Do It” line.

An Abstract Love Story (Nino Hernandez Solo Show)
There was a warm welcome that Nectar Restaurant gave when I entered with Weng who is a fellow artist.
Nino Hernandez, who was part of the Be Still exhibit at the enterprise, invited our group to the launch of his second solo show, titled “An Abstract Love Story”.
In was Xander who introduced us to several folks such as Bus, who is part of the Saturday Group, and Patty, who is the Art PR Manager who got this show running, and Rob, who owns Nectar. Such lovely folks who I will definitely encounter in the future.
Wine was served, red and white, with several choices of finger food. I had one of each (except the wines) and yes, the food was good.
Nino was busy entertaining each guest that came in (which were many), and when I found him free from talking to others I took the chance to get a picture taken with him.
The artworks of Nino’s show reflect his emotions and interpretation on the beliefs and truths of the Bible. Each painting has a corresponding verse on which he used as a reference. Strong, light, bold, and new are the paintings that are on exhibit at the Nectar Restaurant which will run from November 12 to December 30 2011. I hope you guys could drop by Nectar to dine and to view the paintings!
