Space. The final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterpr... Sorry. Just thought it would be nice to say that to start the note. But incidentally, just like the famous starship of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, the building that the exhibit I'm part of is named Enterprise.
The venue is at the Arte Hall of Tower 2 (L for lobby is actually the 3rd level of the building... or something like that).
All excited and avoiding to be late to get to the venue to mount our art work, I was the third person to arrive. The first two folks were Bianca and Daryl, a lovely pair. We shared our history of how we got into the art scene and I am amazed by their talent. Bianca's pieces are of mosaic's pieced by tiles and other materials that we discard. Daryl's work was a beautiful black and white picture of a lady sitting facing a mirror. All our small talks and laughs were good and the only downside was the heat inside the building since the air-conditioner was shut (with the excuse that it was a holiday).
After a few minutes enter Xander (beautiful impressionist paintings), Jet (pencils and oils. Wow), and Edi (check out the flower painting and igorot he has posted, a must see!). Short introductions, hi hello's, shared some jokes and laughs. The nice thing of the group was that they are easy to talk to and fun to hang out with! More came in: Martin, Nino, (who has an exhibit coming up! November 12 at the Nectar Restaurant which will run up to December 30!) Noel (wow detail bow down), Weng (Tamange I want her sunflower painting. and Weng if you read this it's not with me. lol),Niel (computer prints and he uses a mouse... not a digital pen to make his art pieces.. a must see!) Duds (Ed Bustamante it's his show! lol power paintings here), Buhay (whimsical light paintings), Louie (watercolors woah), and Recci (sad he only brought one painting since the others he planned to exhibit weren't dry).
We worked several hours in the sauna like heat of the building but it wasn't a problem. It was fun! Had snacks/dinner at 7-Eleven and Mini-Stop. Now, I feel pooped but excited! See you guys on the 9th! Below are some snaps I took at the ingress:
Daryl and Bianca!
Jet's still life painting on the side, and on the far end you'll see Edi's skyscape
Here's another snap of some of the works. Mine's on the far left. Don't judge my canvas! hehe
Xander checking out Nino's work (who is on the phone) while Bianca's in the middle of it all. We were talking with Daryl how it would be nice to post some works on the steel walls.
The Duds show! Great paintings. I love the cat piece he's posting and the other food pieces.
The 7-Eleven trip we made to have some snacks.
Jet using a board as a fan!
Here's Recci checking out the works
The last folks to leave the place. Jet, Edi, Xander, and Recci. All serious. And tired. hehe
I just had to plank it. Be Still!
More snaps soon. Great to be on a show with great artists! Do visit the exhibit Be Still!
