Valenteism: Artguments with the Coconut Climber and other things when walking

After having a crazy chat with one of my good friends who writes, and paints, I thought of "documenting" all the ideas birthed from that conversation on a 12x18cm blank paged notebook.

Below is a fake writeup by Ramon Taguchi (who is the good friend I chatted with) for the "launching" of this "exhibit". All works and titles did not go through serious thinking. This, again, is just for fun! If I take this album seriously I may have it exhibited. LOL.

I'll probably make some serious pieces out of these though :)

"Artguments with the Coconut Climber and other things when walking"

Implicit perhaps, that art has finally lost its nerve-center, Joseph Valente, in his new 2011 series simply entitled "Artguments with the Coconut Climber and other things when walking", has a lot to say about the matter.

Born in 1981, Valente's visions of the world is carefully mirrored in his latest obra maesta series, giving emphasis in the in betweens of the signs of the times.

The works featured in this series reflects all things, at the same time those which are dubbed as nothing. Circles in spirals, wheels within wheels, roses and thorns, these and more are the core in Valente's "ART".

Like a bird staking over a city skyline, or an ant, awed by the concrete towers of the world, Valente pens his gemini-like visions, in between doors and windows, outside and inside.

"I envision myself arguing with a coconut climber, regarding the current GDP standing of the nation. His analysis, entails focus on the rising demand for gasoline, yet our nation's inability to rise up to that demand. My argument, stands on how we, as a nation, buy too many cellphones, like the Nokia N8, Nokia's latest Symbian 3 phone with a 12MP camera." Valente said during the launching of "Artguments with the Coconut Climber and other things when walking".

"Why can't rich people like Bruce Wayne or Scrooge McDuck help the nation?" Valente further rants, whilst swinging a bottle of San Miguel's Pale Pilsen, demonstrating his apathy towards how people depend too much on alcohol and peanuts.
